Coming up with these lists, for both Briana of Tarth and I, was incredibly difficult, which saddened us both. We felt that we could easily come up with a list of our top ten favourite men of TV but coming up with a list of women that we felt exemplified all that we deem good in a character was much harder.



The premise was simple: come up with a list of 10 female characters (only one per television show, barring our number one slot, so sorry to all the April Ludgates and Diane Lockharts who got left out. We still love you!) that are written and acted to perfection (in our very humble opinion).

We did try to come up with a list together but her love of Alicia Florrick went up against my love of Fiona Gallagher so we decided to split the difference and make our own lists. The more the merrier, right? 

​

Though we did eventually find 10 women each (with a little overlap) that made the grade, it's a sad state of affairs when there are so few characters of your gender that make you want to stand up and cheer for how gosh darn amazing they are. 

 

 

So without further ado, let's celebrate the ones that can and here's to hoping that there will be a top 20 next year.
