The Top Ten Women on Television of 2013

Mindy Lahiri - The Mindy Project

Carrie Mathison - Homeland

It took me awhile to get on board the Mindy train but I'm glad I finally hopped on. This chick is great. Not only is she incredibly witty and hilarious, but she represents a good portion of the female population with her love of romantic comedies, eating and dramatics. She holds her own against the men in her office, is confident in her sexuality yet self-deprecating enough to be relatable and delivers zingers like a hyped up Liz Lemon. Despite some annoying tendencies (ruining her ex's wedding with a drunken speech is an example that comes to mind) Mindy has an innate likability about her. She's still making her way through life, but that life is inherently watchable.

Let’s get something straight. This girl, in the middle of a bipolar breakdown off her meds, managed to figure out a major terrorist’s plan and motivation using the colours of the rainbow. So whatever you can say about her ugly cry face and her terrible choice to fall in love with a mark who also happens to be terrorist, girl can run circles around anyone, any day. I wish I had more to say on her, but really my favourite thing is that she trusts her instincts, and even when she’s disrespecting authority and getting crazy hysterical, she’s usually making the right move. WHILE HAVING A MEDICAL AND EMOTIONAL BREAKDOWN! Sorry, but how badass is that?
